The Sultanate of Oman’s Municipal Council in the Al Dhahirah Governorate has confirmed that field and construction works on its health walkway project have crossed the 80% completion milestone.

The health walkway project is being implemented in the Al-Raki area within the province of Yanqul in the Al Dhahirah Governorate.

The project is being implemented as part of a public-private partnership (PPP) under the mandate of the Municipal Council in cooperation with a number of government and private sector firms.

As part of the project, a number of solar-powered streetlights have been installed at various places along the walkway, which automatically illuminate the area every evening.

In addition, two toilets have also been constructed at intervals along the walkway, with one at the beginning of the walkway, and the other at the middle of the walkway.

Said Ali bin Khamis, a senior member of the Municipal Council, said: “A lot of entities have come together to cooperate and put their efforts into completing the walkway, which is a good and suitable project for people of the region.”

This is one of the civil and community projects aimed to serve citizens and residents in the region, and is being implemented in cooperation with the municipality of Yanqul as well as SMEs in the region, according to the state-run Oman News Agency.
