RO3.5 million to be spent on projects in Musandam this year

Muscat: Dr. Saeed bin Humaid al Harthy, Wali of Khasab, said that the Musandam Governorate will witness large investments in the coming years.

He said that RO3.5 million will be spent on various development projects for the governorate this year.

Some investments include that of the Asas Company to establish a park, and coordination is underway to establish a hotel facility on the beach of Bassa.

In the coming days, Omran Company will also tender for a zipline, which will be from the top of the mountain down to the sea.

Mohammed al Busaidi, chairman of Omran, has said that the first phase will include a zip-line project covering a distance of 1500 meters (250 meters from sea level. To start from Atana Khasab Hotel, the zip-line will be implemented in the coming days. Other projects include that of a cable car.

The government has also launched a bid for amphibious aircraft (20 passengers and less), which will serve tourists in Musandam, Masirah, Al Hallaniyat Islands, Barr al Hakman, and Jebel al Akhdar.
